- Characteristics
- Improves the efficiency of EVs through electronic control and prevents the performance degradation of vehicles even in high-temperature situations
- Major Features
- The following are the methods by which electric oil pumps for lubrication, thermal control, enhancement of power efficiency, and smooth transmission and driving are applied for each vehicle type (EV, ICE):
- ICE: Internal combustion engine vehicles currently employ ISG (Idle Stop & Go) to meet environmental regulations as the technology to reduce fuel consumption and exhaust gas emission by automatically stopping the engine when a car comes to a stop.
During this process, the electric oil pump gets supplied with power from batteries to activate and maintains the minimum pressure needed for transmission.
This helps in smooth driving when the car restarts after the completion of ISG.
- EV: For EVs where energy efficiency (ratio of distance moved per power consumed) is critical for eco-friendliness, the electric oil pump maintains suitable levels of oil supply and driving motor temperature for cooling the driving motor in EVs to improve energy efficiency.
It is also necessary to reduce the power consumption of the oil pump itself to enhance energy efficiency, for which the pump, motor, and control technology serve key roles.
