Recognized for Outstanding Quality, Delivery Performance, and Manufacturing Excellence Just One Year After Initial Supply to Ford

Since its establishment in 1979, GMB Korea Co., Ltd., currently led by CEO Byung-Young Song, has supplied automotive components to major domestic customers including Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Corporation, Hyundai Mobis, Hyundai Transys, Hyundai WIA, and BorgWarner, as well as global automakers such as General Motors (GM), Ford, Volkswagen (VW), and Stellantis.

In June 2026, GMB Korea’s Seosan Plant achieved the Ford Q1 Certification, one of Ford Motor Company's highest supplier quality recognitions.

Mr. Young-Gyu Kim, Plant Manager of GMB Korea’s Seosan Plant, announced during the Ford Q1 Certification Award Ceremony held on June 12 that the plant had officially been recognized for its capabilities in quality management, delivery performance, and manufacturing process control, all of which are essential requirements within Ford’s global supply chain.

This achievement comes approximately one year after GMB Korea began its first mass production supply to Ford in May 2025. 

The certification is particularly significant as it demonstrates the company's ability to establish stable mass-production operations and maintain high-quality standards during the early stages of supplying a new global OEM customer.

The Ford Q1 Certification is one of Ford’s most prestigious supplier quality awards. It is granted to manufacturing sites that meet rigorous standards across multiple areas, including product quality, production process stability, delivery performance, and continuous improvement activities.

The certification is widely recognized as an important indicator of manufacturing reliability and operational excellence within the global automotive supply chain.

GMB Korea’s Seosan Plant has served as one of the company's key manufacturing bases, leveraging its expertise in the production of precision automotive components.

As the automotive industry increasingly emphasizes quality stability and supply chain reliability amid ongoing electrification and global supply chain restructuring, this certification serves as a strong endorsement of GMB Korea’s capability to meet the demands of global customers.

Industry experts believe that obtaining global OEM quality certifications provides a solid foundation for participating in future vehicle programs and expanding customer diversification opportunities.

Building on the Ford Q1 Certification, GMB Korea plans to further strengthen quality assurance, enhance manufacturing processes, improve delivery responsiveness, and expand collaborative partnerships with global automotive customers.
